How to use Vista’s ReadyBoost

ReadyBoost allows us to use a flash memory device as memory and thus it improves system memory and boosts performance. The flash memory device serves as an additional memory cache that is, memory that the computer can access much more quickly than it can access data on the hard drive. ReadyBoost uses an intelligent memory management technique called Windows SuperFetch for this purpose.

STEP 1: Plug in your USB flash drive and choose “Speed up my system”. Vista OS then checks for its performance.

STEP 2: Set the amount of space to be used for readyboost, you can use the remainder for storing files.
