Dell OptiPlex 960 unveiled

dell-optiplex Dell unveiled a new range of pro desktop computers including the Dell OptiPlex 960 with an all new metal design which gives an industrial touch to it.

The metal grill design keeps the inside components cool, thus ensuring less power consumption. It seems the new systems with the new Intel hardware consume 43 percent less power than the previous counterparts.

The Dell OptiPlex 960 comes in a mini-tower with a minimum configuration of Intel Core 2 Duo 3GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 80GB of SATA Hard Disk with transfer rate of 3GB/sec.

The system can be customized with more memory, and a dedicated ATI Radeon HD 3470 graphic card. Dell also launched its first thin-client desktop, the OptiPlex FX160 small enough to be mounted on the back of the LCD monitor. The system is intended to be used with a virtual operating system on the network. The system is priced at $399.

Dell also launched the budget OptiPlex 760 and an ultra-small form factor OptiPlex 360 systems with a minimum 2GHz Celeron for a base price of $630 and $ 897 respectively.

OptiPlex 960 is price starts at $892 and a larger mini-tower with SFF case variant is priced at $912.
