LG announced two new ultra-thin 55-inch “full LED” LCD TV’s in Seoul. Both the models are extremely thin and promises superior picture quality, quality and design. A total of 3,360 LEDs are used for backlighting, which is seven times more than that used in the existing high-end LED TV’s. The models also feature 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio through enhanced dimming technology that divides the screen into 240 blocks with a refresh rate of 240Hz thus ensuring smooth display even while watching fast-paced action scenes. Another innovative feature in these modes is the enhanced wireless feature, which eliminates the need for image compression. Hence the content from the DVD players and game consoles can be sent wirelessly without and degradation in the image quality.
The model 55LH93 is priced at around KRW 7 million (approximately 5500 US Dollars) and the 55LH95 is priced around KRW 7.6 million (approximately 5900 US Dollars).
