LG today unveiled world’s thinnest LCD in the sizes 42-inch and 47-inch with the thickness of only 5.9mm(0.23-inch).
The display is a LED Backlit, Full HD, 1080p LCD TV weighing just about 6.1kg for the 42-inch model and 7.3kg for the 47-inch model. The displays used LG’s proprietary Light Guide Sheet technology to achieve the thickness of this kind which is half when compared to a display using the Light Guide Plates.
Also the color gamut of the display has improved from the standard 72% NTSC to 80%. Other features include 120Hz panel, 8ms response time, 10-bit panel, 178 degree viewing angle , brightness of 450 cd/m2 and a moderate power consumption of 110W for 42-inch display and 130W for 47-inch display.
