Do you think iPod and Zune are a passé? Well, it’s time for you to consider the Sony Walkman series. Sony announced all new DAP’s in S,E, and B Series.
The S-Series:
The super-light S-Series is the slimmest of all the series which is just 7.5 mm thin. It comes with a 2-inch QVGA LCD Screen with quick response times for playback at up to 30 frames/sec. The interface can be customized with 10 pre-installed wallpapers or you upload your favorite photo.
The battery life is up to 40hr for video playback(30hr with noise-cancellation enabled) and 10hr for video playback.
The E-Series:
The E-Series is meant for high-quality video and audio playback. The E-Series models are format-friendly, they can play the ripped tracks, music store downloads and rights-managed video clips. Non-DRM files can be dragged and dropped from the online music services to the Walkman players directly. The battery life is up to 45 hr for audio playback and 8 hr for video playback.
Both S and E-Series supports Open Platform, means more choices for the file types.
The B-Series:
The entry-level B-Series Walkman players is meant for only audio playback with high-quality sound of course, The players can be able to play mp3 and wma formats.
Battery life is up to 30hr.
Pricing:
The S-series of Walkman noise canceling video MP3 players come in two different storage capacities in black:
* The NWZ-S736F has approximately 4GB of internal storage and will cost about $150.
* The NWZ-S738F has approximately 8GB of internal storage and will cost about $180.
The E-series of Walkman video MP3 players will be available in the following configurations:
* The NWZ-E436F comes in black, red, pink, blue, has approximately 4GB of internal storage and costs about $100.
* The NWZ-E438F comes in black, red, pink, has approximately 8GB of internal storage, and costs about $140.
The B-series of Walkman MP3 players come in two different capacities and four colors:
* The NWZ-B133F player has approximately 1GB of internal storage; comes in black, red and blue and will cost about $45.
* The NWZ-B135F player has approximately 2GB of internal storage; comes in black, red and pink and will cost about $60.
