Cyberdyne’s Robot suit HAL to begin mass production, will cost $4200

cyberdyne-hal-suit Cyberdyne will begin mass production of its crown jewel, the HAL-5 (Hybrid Assistive Limb) in association with Daiwa House, Japan. The suit detects the bio-signals on the surface of the skin while a person attempts to move and the powered unit in the suit will be controlled to move the joints complementing the wearers muscle movements.

The suit runs on a Battery and gives an operating time of up to 2 hr 40 min. The suit assists in carrying out daily activities such as standing up, walking, climbing up and down the stairs, and also for lifting heavy objects. It can be operated in both indoor and outdoors. A total of 400 Robot HAL units will be produced annually, which will cost $4200 per suit. However, there is no information on when these said suits will be made available.
