Sans Digital unveiled its latest RAID storage device, the MobileRAID MR4UT 4-bay enclosure featuring I/O processor capable of performing I/O operations at 400MB per/sec and a RAID controller.
Users can configure the drives as RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5 or JBOD with an option to keep one drive as hot-spare, which can be used in case if of an active drive failure. The HDD trays supports 3.5-inch hot-swappable SATA I and SATA II drives with read speed up to 210MB/sec and write speed of 170MB/sec via e-SATA connection.
The RAID options can be configured via built-in LCD display or by using IP-based Web interface. A total of up to 6TB can be used on 4 racks, 1.5TB each.
The MobileRAID MR4UT is now available for purchase for $830 without the drives and with drives of sizes 2TB, 3TB, 4TB and 6TB costs $1270, $1530, $1730, and $1990 respectively.
