The WINDS satellite, hoped to deliver speeds of up to 1.2 Gbps was launched by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency(JAXA) along with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on Saturday(0855 GMT). If this $342 million project is successful, subscribers with small dishes will be able to connect to internet at speeds many times faster than the existing cable or DSL services. This service will be available in the Aisa-Pacific region close to Japan.
