MSI Wind U110 comes with a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor, Intel Menlow chipset and ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 Graphics. MSI claims the battery life of U110 to be 9 hours, although it remains to be seen what it can do in the real world. There’s no mention on price or availability yet.

Lenovo has not commented on the images nor made any announcement yet.

The Vista based Netbook comes with an incredible 1600×768 resolution LED-backlit display, 3G WWAN, 802.11n WiFi, Blutooth, GPS module, built-in webcam and battery for four hours backup. There is an option to choose for high-capacity cell which promises to deliver 8 hrs of backup.

Also, users will be able to launch Sony’s Xross Media Bar interface directly without the need for logging into operating system, and perform several useful tasks.

The Netbook is available in garnet red, onyx black, emerald green, crystal white and classic black colors for a price of $900.

Full-Featured VAIO PC Fuses Style, Mobility and Connectivity for Anytime, Anywhere Computing

LAS VEGAS (CES Booth #14200), Jan. 7, 2009 – Sony today took the wraps off the world’s lightest 8-inch notebook- the new VAIO® P Series Lifestyle PC.

About the size of a business envelope and roughly as thin as a cell phone, the VAIO Lifestyle PC weighs just 1.4 pounds and is small enough to slip into a jacket pocket or handbag while integrating full-PC features.

The model incorporates a high-resolution, 1600 x 768, LED backlit 8-inch ultra-wide display (diagonal), making it easy to view everything from entire spreadsheets to full web pages- no side-to-side scrolling necessary. It also incorporates Sony’s XBRITE-ECO™ LCD technology, producing images in brilliant detail for razor-sharp viewing on-the-go.

Stylish enough to take anywhere, the unit is available in an array of eye-catching colors, including garnet red, emerald green, onyx black, crystal white and classic black. Matching carrying cases and Bluetooth® color-coordinated mice are available to complete the look.

Engineered to provide the feel of a larger notebook, the VAIO Lifestyle PC provides a convenient typing experience by extending the keyboard to the perimeters of the chassis maximizing the typing area. The spacing between keys has also been engineered to help reduce typing mistakes making it perfect for long fingernails.

The notebook incorporates built-in wireless WAN 3G Mobile Broadband, 802.11n wi-fi and Bluetooth technologies. Users can toggle among various wireless options for the most efficient connection – Wi-Fi for working at a coffee shop; Bluetooth for peripherals; and Mobile Broadband service on the Verizon Wireless nationwide network when traveling outside the reach of hotspots (subscription required).

The unit features up to four hours of battery life with the included standard capacity battery and eight hours with the large capacity battery (sold separate).

It also incorporates real-time GPS functionality, making it easy to find restaurants, hotels or special sites of interest. Destinations can be found by simply typing in an address or keyword and then following the turn-by-turn directions. The Lifestyle PC even includes estimated drive times to let you know how far you are from a destination. No Internet connection is required in the United States or Canada.

The unit also has an instant-mode option that launches directly into Sony’s Xross Media Bar™ interface, so you can rapidly boot up and access music, video, photos and the Web. A built-in webcam lets you video chat with family, friends and colleagues. A third-party service is required.

The PC comes with the Windows Vista® operating system, supporting office applications and all the software programs routinely found in full-size notebooks. A windows arrangement utility has been added to easily organize all open documents or websites with one touch, positioning them neatly along side each other on a single screen.

The VAIO P Series Lifestyle PC will retail for about $900. It will be available for pre-orders tomorrow online at www.sony.com/pr/pseries. It will also be sold at Sony Style® stores starting later this month and at other major retailers around the country beginning in February.

The aluminum design though, remains unchanged and the keyboard occupies 92% of the width of the Netbook. Storage has been upgraded as well, the options include 160GB hard drive or 80GB SSD.

Also, number of operating system options has been provided with the choices including SuSE Linux, FreeDos or Windows Vista Home Basic or Home Premium.

HP is planning to sell the Mini 2140 for a base price of $499 from later this month.

The Netbook comes packed with a 10-inch display, an Intel 1.6GHz Z530 Atom Processor, Menlow Chipset, 1GB RAM, either 1.3MP or 2.0MP webcam, 4-in-one card reader, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Connectivity.

The MSI Hybrid Netbook can use 8GB or 16GB SSD along with the 120GB or 160GB Hard Drive simultaneously. This is very useful feature, where the core system files and operating system can be stored on the SSD and all the other stuff on a mechanical hard drive.

The Netbook, when placed in “ECO on Mode” provides a long battery life.

The Netbook weights only 1kg and battery life is approximately 4 hrs.

Asus Eee PC PC900A is now available for just $300 at Best Buy. It is based on Intel Atom processor 1.6GHz and comes packed with 1 GB DDR2 RAM, 8.9-inch wide screen with 1024×600 resolution, 4GB SSD Drive, a Digital Media Reader, 3 USB slots, built-in wireless support and Linux Operating system pre-installed. The Netbook is just 1.3-inch thin and weighs about 2.2lbs or 1kg.

The ASUS N10E-A1 model, which comes with a 1GB RAM, 160GB Hard Drive, 3-cell battery and Windows XP Home OS is priced at $600.

The ASUS N10J-A1 model, which comes with a 2GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9300M 256MB dedicated graphics card, 160GB Hard Drive, 6-cell battery and Windows Vista Home Premium is priced at $700.

The ASUS N10J-A2 model, which comes with a 2GB of memory, NVIDIA 9300M 256MB dedicated graphics card, 320GB Hard Drive, 6-cell battery and Windows Vista Business OS is priced at $800.

It has got a 10.2 inch screen, which is unusual for a Netbook. But, there is no need to be worried about the battery life coz, Samsung claims the battery life to be up to 8 hours with the 6-cell battery.

It comes with an Intel Atom Processor, 80 or 160GB regular Hard drive, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet ports, 1.4 MP web cam, and 3.5mm headphone jacks. There is no option for selecting an OS, you have to be happy with the Windows XP which comes preloaded. The weight 1.33kg is a little on the higher side, which is understandable, since it comes with the regular mechanical hard disk. All in all, its a good-looking laptop with decent specs and a decent price.
